Skill & Artistry

Skill & Artistry metrics for portfolio-relative valuation

What this dimension measures

The Skill & Artistry dimension measures technical execution quality: how much control, palette sophistication, and consistency an artist demonstrates in each artwork. It’s the second of three dimensions in the Artalytics framework, alongside Time & Effort and Complexity & Detail.

Within each artist’s portfolio, Skill & Artistry scores differentiate technically peak works (85th+ percentile) from consistent standard output (40th–84th) and developing or exploratory pieces (below 40th). Every metric derives from canvas-file metadata — stroke uniformity, palette breadth, spectrum use, technique pattern — rather than subjective assessment.

Why within-artist comparison works · How the score is calculated

The public foundation view intentionally stops at the dimension level. Skill & Artistry is built from five proprietary metric families spanning color handling, transition quality, stroke discipline, spectrum breadth, and repeatable technique patterns. The full metric names, definitions, formulas, and implementation notes are available in the private documentation for qualified review.
